Club History
Since 1957, Coral Bay Club has been a cherished cornerstone of Atlantic Beach, founded by Mary Cameron and a dedicated group of North Carolinians. With a $100,000 seed loan and a pivotal lease signed in 1958, the club officially opened that summer—brought to life by the vision of early leaders like Mary Cameron and Raymond Bryant.
Over the decades, CBC has grown and evolved while staying true to its coastal heritage. From withstanding storms to introducing modern comforts, key milestones include adding air conditioning in 1969, expanding with the Fountain Room in 1973, acquiring waterfront property in 1974, and relocating the tennis courts in the 1990s. More recent enhancements saw the transformation of the Coral Bar in 2010 and the Poolside Café into the Sandbar in 2015.
Now, the 2023 renovation—led by Kersting Architecture and Samet Corporation—ushers in a new era, set for completion in 2025. This revitalization includes a state-of-the-art kitchen, a relocated Ballroom, and an elevated second-floor addition. New highlights include Bar 1958 with stunning ocean views, the refined Cove Room, and the vibrant Cabana Bar by the pool.
As we embrace the future, Coral Bay Club remains dedicated to preserving its rich history while offering an unparalleled coastal experience for generations to come.
